A new exhibition and a new gallery layout, brought artists and art lovers from around the county to the Mill Gallery in West Leeds.
The opening night on Friday 19th June gave everyone the opportunity to take a first look at The Open Exhibition which featured thirty amazing artists from around the UK.
The Open 2026 brings together a bold and carefully curated selection of contemporary artwork by emerging and established artists from across the UK. Spanning painting, sculpture, photography, drawing, and printmaking, the exhibition highlights the breadth, energy, and ambition of contemporary practice today.
Through a wide range of materials, processes, and perspectives, the exhibition explores how artists engage with observation, memory, identity, place, abstraction, and experimentation. From intimate works to larger-scale pieces, the exhibition reflects the diversity and complexity of contemporary art-making across disciplines.
The selected works demonstrate strong artistic vision, originality, and material or conceptual enquiry, offering visitors an engaging snapshot of contemporary practice at this moment in time.
The gallery will be open Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10am–4pm, until the exhibition closes on the 31st July,
